Do I need a car?

A car allows you to travel spontaneously without having to make other arrangements.

Be aware that in South Africa, cars drive on the left side of the road, so if you accustomed to driving on the right, this could take some adjusting.

Is there onsite parking at Blue On Blue B&B?

We provide one onsite parking space per room. Please notify us in advance if you need a space for your car.

If you drive a taller vehicle, we need to know the height so we can advise if it will fit under our driveway pergola.

Can Blue On Blue B&B arrange my airport transfer?

Yes. If you require transportation from Cape Town International Airport, we can book a transfer with our favorite shuttle service.

Please provide us with your date and time of arrival, airline and flight number, and the departure city.

Are guided tours of Cape Town available?

Yes. With advanced notice we can assist with scheduling a customised tour suited to your interests. We can also provide sample tour itineraries.

What other methods of transportation are available?

Our guests report that Uber has worked well.

The local train that runs along the False Bay coastline stops at St James Station at the foot of our street.

Terms And Conditions


Our rates for bed and breakfast accommodation are subject to change without notice: we strongly advise you to contact us for exact rates for your stay at Blue On Blue.



To confirm a B&B booking, we ask you for a deposit.  In most cases, the amount required is 50% of the accommodation cost for your stay.  However, for one-night bookings we ask for full payment in advance.



We accept payment by EFT, PayPal, Mastercard and Visa. We also accept American Express and Diner’s Club, although a fee is added equal to the banking charges associated with the transaction. Please note that regardless of the method of payment, all bookings must be accompanied by credit card details valid until the last day of the booking.


NOTE: The credit card used for the payment and the matching cardholder’s ID must be presented at check-in. If this is not possible, please contact us prior to booking to determine if an alternative arrangement can be approved.


Cancellation Policy

Because Blue On Blue is a small establishment, it is sometimes not possible to resell a room at short notice. For this reason, we observe the following cancellation policy:


More than 12 weeks notice: Full refund minus bank fees.

Less than 12 weeks notice: 50% deposit refunded.

Less then 8 weeks notice: Deposit forfeited.

Less than 4 weeks notice: Full charge forfeited.


All cancellations must be in writing. Bookings are not cancelled until you receive a written reply from Blue On Blue confirming the cancellation.


If we are able to resell your room for any of the cancelled dates, we will refund you the charges associated with those nights, minus any associated bank fees.


We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to protect you from unexpected costs resulting from cancellations.


Additional Guests

Our rooms are designed to accommodate two adults comfortably.  Some of our rooms can accommodate an additional mattress on the floor and depending on the season and overall occupancy, we can sometimes allow a third person in a room. There is a charge for additional guests. Contact us for details and to make a request.
